David O'Rourke: www.davidorourke.com
My bandleader, guitarist, creator of all my gorgeous
arrangements, and the most important and influential person in my life.
Not only is he one of the best guitarists, arrangers and composers in
the business, he's also the director of the Jazz
Standard Discovery Program, which teaches jazz to NYC school
children in an actual club setting. A beautiful man who makes beautiful
music. You cannot miss one of his performances.
Joseph Walsh: www.josephwalsh.net
This man, along with David O'Rourke, is the reason I
started singing jazz again. He's hands-down one of my favorite singers,
with his Sinatra-like voice and Dean Martin-esque attitude. A constant
at Detour, this handsome devil's
show is a must-see. Check out his website for information on the release
party for his debut CD "Forgotten In Manahattan".
Maci Miller: www.macimiller.com
Born in the wrong decade, Maci Miller is a sexy siren
who seems to have stepped right out of a Turner Classic Movie. A real
beauty with the voice to match. Her CD entitled "A Very Good Night"
contains all original songs by Maci, and was recorded in Atlantic City
by Bob Kimmel of the band RED.
Anne Sayre: www.annesayre.com
The official website of the gorgeous actress and dear
friend who plays the character 'Mitzi Matters' on the soap opera As
The World Turns. With attitude and sex appeal as firey as the color
of her hair, this bombshell really needs no further introduction from
me. Buckle your seatbelts, boys.
Jeremy Pelt: www.peltjazz.com
One of the hottest trumpet players in jazz today. Fantastic
website. Handsome, talented, mesmerizing to watch, with a wicked sense
of humor, this man is a rising star.
Lewis Nash: www.lewisnash.com
The incomparable Lewis Nash: the only drummer who's
ever moved me to tears from a performance. Already a legend, his talent
is magical and his heart is golden. Rhythm most definitely IS his business...
Detour: www.jazzatdetour.com
My home away from home. Without a doubt the best no-cover
jazz club in Manhattan. Don't take my word for it: Grammy-winner recently
Norah Jones plugged Detour in the NY Post as of her favorite clubs,
too. You can catch performances by Joseph Walsh, Kat Roche, David O'Rourke,
Fintan O'Neil, Abraham Burton, Sachal Vasandani and yours truly among
others. Say hello to Evan, Serena and Mike for me.
Jason Moyer: www.smallbizsupport.com
The reason this web page exists: My brother-in-law and
computer genius extraordinaire.
Leadership Lancaster: www.leadershiplancaster.org
A not-for-profit organization focused on maintaining
and preserving the city of Lancaster in Pennsylvania. Their office is
run by the beautiful, the brilliant, the incredible Amy Moyer (also
known in other circles as my sister).
Jazz Standard: www.jazzstandard.net
Home of the Jazz Standard Discovery Program and Blue
Smoke, a great barbeque restaurant.
International Women in Jazz: www.internationalwomeninjazz.com
I came across this organization through my friend and
former co-worker Sonya Martin. Please check them out and show them your
support.
T. Schreiber Studio: www.t-s-s.org
Run by Terry Schreiber. Alumni includes Ed Norton. Betty
Buckley teaches an acting intensive, and any class of Mary Boyer's comes
highly recommended.
The Shubert Organization: www.shubertarchive.org
The granddaddies of American theater.
Steve's Authentic Keylime Pie: www.stevesauthentic.com
Love keylime pie? The buck stops here, pal.
